What Is A Good Job For People Who Like To Work With There Hands? But Don’t Have Any Mechanical Aptitude?

July 13, 2010 – 11:16 am

I like to work with my hands… i.e. carving creative pumpkins, painting, basic carpentry… I like doing it… Most people would just consider such things a hobby, but I really am trying to find a career, and thats the only kind of thing I think I would like to do with my time if I had a choice… any careers that you can think that would go with these things…? THx

  3. check out nyjobzone.org. You can register and take free assessments. This will give you some insight into your skills and occupations that align with them. This is a free site through the NY State Dept. of Labor with some good information. There is a plethora of opportunities for active work – healthcare, information technology, clerical work, retail, assembly.
Also (in NY State) there are apprenticeship programs that can provide training in painting, carpentry, etc – most states must have them. These are great because you are paired with a skilled tradesperson, paid for the training, then complete with a marketable skill! Good luck, and remember happiness is found along the way not at the end of the road.
