What Is A Good Career For People Who Don’t Like To Study?
February 20, 2010 – 4:55 pmI’m trying to help my sister who is in college, but she is having difficulty trying to find a career that will suit her. She does not like to study, so I’m trying to find something that she doesn’t have to spend a lot of time memorizing. Her major is psychology, but I think this curriculum may not be for her.

Maybe something that is a little more practically based like something that offers a work based NVQ or something? doing Psychology she probably has an interest in people so maybe get into Health care? As a mental health nurse alot of the coursework is practise based on placements, while u still have to do academic assignments u are getting out more than alot of courses would allow and there isnt that many exams. Its nice that she has a supportive sister and good luck to her!
The emphasis is more on practise, however it is hard work, like anything i suppose!
I AM NOT saying that nursing is something u can do if u dont like study, as its really hard work but it is a different kind of course which allows different kinds of study so u dont get bored with it, for example as well as essays u do placements, role plays, videos, presentations and u get to interact with people and put theorys into practise.
I can emphasise with your sister some people get bored just doing essay after essay and revision it doesnt mean she is lazy like i have seen suggested!

Why is she in school if she doesn’t like studying? Tell her to drop out and get a Mcjob if she’s lazy.

Try “Picking up Cans along the highway” It requires little thinking and pays $.05 a can. She would of course, have to learn how to stay out of the way of traffic……

A good carreer for people who do not like to study would be road crew. She can wear a hard hat and an orange vest, and direct traffic around road construction for the rest of her life.
Or she can study.

College isn’t for her if she doesn’t enjoy learning anything. Dancer if she’s good looking, otherwise the military.

If she doesn’t like to study and learning is unpleasant for her then COLLEGE isn’t right for her.
These days, most jobs, even largely physical ones, require training, study and expertise. College isn’t a necessity (A good plumber can make more than many computer programmers) but still requires training, study and expertise. If she really detests study and learning then she has three options:
Fast Food (Knowing she’s unlikely to ever make Manager at a decently run restaurant)
Retail (Again, knowing her advancement options are very limited)
A third career that, in the USA, is only legal in certain counties in Nevada.

Garbage man, street cleaner or something similar. If you don’t like to study you do not deserve better.

why not try a more physical or hands on career which is more practical based ! or an apprentiship ! not everybody likes to study and some people are better suited with a more practical course!
