Ok Can Someone Help Me Out. Im Trying To Figure Things Out For My Psychology Career?

July 12, 2010 – 11:19 pm

So I was told that it is better to get a masters in SOcial Work being that it can offer more opportunities as far as working in the Psychology world as I would say :) I understand that to find a career in Psychology the minimum that should be required to be successful is a Masters which I plan to do. However, I was told that with a bachelors in Psych “good luck trying to find a job” but with a bachelors in Social work i can do more and then eventually I can work more into Psych with a masters in Social work. Is this true? Can someone really help me and break it down if it’s not too much. Example: I was told that with MSW I can do Psychiatric work for instance Psychiatric social worker (at a hospital) however…which a Masters in Psychology, I don’t think I can do that. I want to make sure this is true before I start making some changes since Psychology is really what I would love to do for the rest of my life :) Thanks and please only serious answers. I appreciate it a lot. i guess I was just thrilled with the possiblility of majoring in Psychology since its so much what I want to do. Well as long as I can do Psych I will be happy. Or would it be better to get a BA in Psych and a masters in Social work or vise versa?
