College/University Admissions
Being a college admissions counselor can be great no matter what your background: travel opportunities, working in a higher education environment, tuition remission for the school’s graduate and undergraduate classes, lots of friendly contact with excited young people and their parents, and opportunities to scope out other careers in higher education while you work. Admissions counselors do a lot of reading and talking in order to educate themselves about all aspects of their school’s curriculum, in interviews with prospective students and in presentations. There is an active professional association which has annual conferences where networking and professional development take place, and the fall recruitment season usually finds counselors on the road with their counterparts traveling to high schools to hold information sessions and talk to guidance counselors, as well as represent their school at college fairs. National Association of College Admissions Counselors
Development
Being a development officer—a fundraiser for an institution who courts individual donors—is said by many who do it to be unexpectedly fun and rewarding. For people who think well on their feet and enjoy engaging with others, this can be highly stimulating career, and a lucrative one as well. Universities, museums, hospitals, foundations and all kinds of institutions have development departments. This work often involves travel, phone work, research, and a thorough knowledge of the institution. Association of Fundraising Professionals
Editor
Editors review, rewrite, and edit the work of writers. They may also do original writing. An editor's responsibilities vary depending on the employer and type and level of editorial position held. In the publishing industry, an editor's primary duties are to plan the contents of books, technical journals, trade magazines, and other general interest publications. Editors decide what material will appeal to readers, review and edit drafts of books and articles, offer comments to improve the work, and suggest possible titles. Additionally, they oversee the production of the publications. Think of the possibilities!
Speech writing/Public Relations
Don DeLillo got his start as a speech writer. If you understand rhetoric and read enough to stay informed on the institution or office you represent as well as the topics you present, this can be a very stimulating career for someone who can turn out copy quickly and work collaboratively
This is obviously pasted from a website I found. The link is down below. They have more choices and can give you some sort of idea of what's out there.
