How Does One Find A Career Passion In Life?

January 29, 2010 – 4:54 pm

I’m 27 years old with a 2.6 gpa over 204 hours and 5 majors because I was bored to death in school. I have a great paying job, but that doesn’t seen to bring me much happiness either.

  2. Consider this…
What if a wealthy sponsor said to you, “I will give you 1 million dollars a year for the rest of your life. The only condition is that you are productive.” What would you like to do with your life? What job would you hold if money was no object?
I asked my son this question when he was in high school. I didn’t want him to be a drone going to college floating from career to career until he knew exactly what was in his heart. His answer? “I’d like to be a storm-chaser!” Sounds ridiculous? Well, he’s currently serving in the U.S. Navy studying meteorology and he LOVES his career.
Think about how you want to spend your life. Not what job you want. Then find a way to be productive doing what you love.
    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  3. Some colleges have Career Resources Centers that should be able to help you out. You’re not the only one who has/ or is in this predicament. I’ve seen older people switch careers because they seem to get tired of what they do.
Be patient. It will come to you, naturally. Until then, I would talk to someone that will help you determine what interests you.

  4. I think alot of people get tricked into this idea of a perfect job. If it pays enought to fund your life, then be happy.
What you want to worry about is how you’re spending your free time. Get some passions outside of work and let the money part just be about money.
