How Do You Find Your “passion” In Life? In Other Words, A Career/job That You’d Do Even If You Weren’t Paid?
January 15, 2010 – 4:55 amI have taken career tests, aptitude tests, etc. and they point to work similar to what I’m doing now (clerical, records-related work). But I know there’s a “dream job” out there for me, somewhere. How do I find it?

Look at what you like to do in your free time. That is a good indicator of what your dream career would involve.

I suggest soul searching. I am not sure that any test will truly tell you what your passion is. You may feel comfortable with certain occupations, but to find your passion takes time. Don’t quit looking.

You experiment. What do you like to do? Look into jobs that would use a special skill you have, or maybe you’ll find a job doing what you really love doing. Just look around. Try a few if you can and talk to lots of people who know people with interesting jobs. Knowledge and experience is the best way to go there.
