A good career is based on:
1. your talent (what you’re good at)
2. your passion (what you love to do)
3. the world’s need (what other people need)
4. meaningful work (doing something that you consider important)
The late Peter Jenning is a good example. He had talent for journalism and simplifying things for viewers. He had passion for his work. He fulfilled an important need in the world. And he felt his work was important and meaningful (especially during the 9/11 period where the nation needed reassurance and a commanding presence).
To specifically answer your question, I suggest that you read the book What Color is Your Parachute, by Richard Bolles. It’s the best book on career management.
Then, I suggest that you break down “finding a career” into 4 different steps:
1. Find your talent
2. Find your passion
3. Find a need in the world that you could help with
4. Find what it is that you find important

Start with what you know or love. The hard part is sometimes that doesn’t suit you for a job. Statistics say a person in their 20s today will have as many as seven careers. You should know pretty quickly when the work doesn’t suit you.
I have had three. I happened to come across electronics in the US Navy, 22 years ago. It has totally prepared me for my internet business today.
